ORGANIC VEGETABLE FLOWER GARDEN
Organic Vegetable & Flower Garden In many parts of India, plants are not only the source of grains, fruits and vegetables but also the main source of medicine. Traditionally Indian farmers rely on services provided by ecosystems to produce the foods we eat and also as the biodiversity of agricultural crops. Natural farming through decompose organic matter that helps to reduce toxic chemicals has a long term effect on our health.
In our mission our goal is to retain critical ecological resources (adaptive management) through sustainable agricultural practices by using the fermented mixes of cow dung and cow urine as natural fertilizer. This is in a sense true if one were to go by facts and figures as the organic farming inputs being recommended by modern science and by traditional India.
This page of the mission is to highlight the recycling that fills the gaps and connects sustainable agriculture with efficient organic farming. We made this project more efficient through our cow shed project. Our vegetable farm grows tomatoes, potatoes and cabbages as you can see in the photos. Mission students also help in this project, focusing on sustainable agriculture, by making the soil and planting the vegetables as being the part of their curriculum. This project to some extent helps us in our day to day need of vegetables. In our garden spaces we also grow flowers for need of the mission’s puja and prayer activities.
